Unit 3 - Stoichiometry
In this unit students will study the nature of materials after they are dissolved in water and various types of reactions that occur.
To understand the types of reactions that occur in aqueous solutions, students must have a clear understanding of the nature of water.
They then must explore the types of species present in different solutions and how those species interact with water by examining their solubility as well as writing the associated net ionic reactions.
Students must also be able to perform stoichiometric calculations related to these reactions and draw or interpret particulate diagrams representing both the solutions and reactions themselves.
