Introductory Materials for Chemistry
HSC 201 Chemistry (1 unit) Chemistry is the study of the structure and properties of matter and the changes which matter goes through. Chemistry topics covered in this course include scientific measurement, chemical names and formulas, chemical reactions, molar relationships, stoichiometric relationships, gas laws, atomic structure, electron arrangement, periodic laws, states of matter, acids and bases and nuclear chemistry. Laboratory work will be used to provide students with an opportunity to apply what they have learned. Students should have a mathematical background, which includes Algebra I.
